Feels like Fall

It has been gorgeous in Tulsa recently and Scott was able to go to the driving range twice this weekend! We've been enjoying the 80s/low 90s for a little bit now and I love it! Addison enjoyed playing outside for a bit today.... I really just had to get pictures of her with pigtails:)

We also went to the OB this week. I am now 12 weeks (it seems like it's been a looooong 12 weeks, too!). Baby Beam is now 3 inches long from head to toe and actually looked like a baby this time. We'll go back in 4 weeks and hopefully find out if it's a girl or a boy.

Our little girl is getting so big! Thanks Daddy for getting these great smiles out of her!

Treats for Buster

Our girl LOVES to give Buster treats.

Brushing Teeth - Addie's Way

When I got out of the shower today, I wrapped my hair up in a towel which I don't normally do. Well, Addison noticed and just had to have her hair done the same way. She absolutely threw a fit when I took it off her head, so she wore it for another 20 minutes until Daddy came home. She loved looking at herself in the mirror and then playing with her toothbrush!
Crying until she could look at herself in the mirror again
Brushing her teeth (a.k.a. playing with water) by herself-She HATES it when I brush her teeth!

JBF Consignment Sale Goodies

This weekend I had the opportunity to shop Tulsa's JBF, or Just Between Friends, sale. It's a mega consignment sale that occurs twice a year in cities all across the US. Tulsa's one of the big ones. They have 1,200 consignors that sell everything from toys to clothes to cribs... about 150,000 itmes for sale. As you can see below, Addison is one lucky girl. We saved a ton of money and bought her Christmas presents from us and the grandparents. Scott checked the prices of all the toys we purchased and we saved at least 50-60% of the retail cost. Add to that 16 new clothing items/outfits, and I'd say we had a productive day. Yeah!

The two things I HAD to get this time...

The Mega Awesone Kitchen including about 100 accessory pieces to be put all over the house by my one year-old!
It even has a little phone... very fun

Joovy Double Stroller-Sit or Stand kind

Addison is already a pro at sitting in the back seat.

Wednesday Night Entertainment

Scott thought it would be funny to put a little peanut butter on Addison's foot for Buster last night after dinner.... she thought it was hilarious after a bit. Nana, I can feel you cringing all the way from North Carolina! She does ask for more:)

Another package and new bows!

A package from Grammy arrived yesterday filled with lots of ribbon and my favorite, cookies! I made 10 new bows last night/this morning with my new ribbon and had a lot of fun! Thanks, Grammy! We've also had to upgrade to a new, bigger bow box:)

Nana Video

Although Addison lives far away from her grandparents, she called Grammy (my mom) Friday on speed dial followed by Nana (Scott's mom) on Saturday... all by herself!?! I didn't realize what she was doing until I heard, "Hello? Hello?" on the other end. Then, today as I was looking at Nana's cookbook, Addison just HAD to have it. Here's what followed.

My First Bows

After posting about the You Tube video on making bows the other day, I decided I was finally in the mood to make a few. Just call me a Martha Stewart wannabe! The ribbon was 83 cents each (1 yard) from Hobby Lobby and I already had the rest of the materials: needle, thread, hot glue gun, and 4 clips from my friend at Jazzercise. My only frustration is that I like having a thinner ribbon versus a knot in the middle of my bow, which they don't carry in the sell-by-the-yard section (except in black). I like the look of the double stacked bows, so after making the white one, I decided to do the rest that way. Anyway, I hope to make cuter ones in the future... I just didn't want to spent the money on a whole roll of cute ribbon if I was only going to make one of each kind!
They're not perfect, but for 83 cents, they are awesome!

Visit and a Package

Not much new is going on around the Beam house. Still feeling yucky and the medicine doesn't seem to be curing my morning sickness:( However, we did have a nice visit Saturday from our close friends, Eric and Michelle who moved to AR. We enjoyed holding and playing with their new cutie, Hannah, too! We had a great time catching up and since most of my days are spent sitting on the couch, it was a nice change for me! We tried to capture a picture of all the girls, ages 3 and under.
I think this is too cute. I guess Addison is smiling at all that hair. It definitely reminds us of Addison's hair in the beginning!

On another note, I got a surprise package from Nana today (Scott's mom). She knows I am feeling terrible, so she sent Addie and me some yummy treats and a new doll, book and blanket for Addie. I don't care how old you are, getting packages in the mail is the best present ever!

And lastly, I finally learned how to make bows a couple of weeks ago. I am planning on making a few bows and tutus when I feel like it, but that may be in October if my morning sickness lasts as long as it did when I was preggo with Addison. So, since there is NO way I can explain to you how to make a bow, here is a link on You Tube to a great demonstration on making bows. Enjoy! I will post some when I actually get around to making some, but I think it will be a long time from now:)
