Raisin Bran + Addie = Big Mess!

So, I thought Addison was dusting behind me as I was cleaning. Evidently, she found the pantry and the Raisin Bran inside. She called to me only a couple of minutes after I was dusting and there it was all over my couch. I had a big laugh and I'm thankful we put blankets on our couch for Buster! An easy cleanup. She is so serious in all the pictures because she is trying to find all of the raisins among the bran flakes!!

Yes, she's clapping!

This would make me cringe if I didn't have the blanket down on the couch!

Loving the vacuum!

Can you tell how much my child LOVES the vacuum?? She gets so excited when we bring it out!

Our Weekend

We've had a restful and uneventful weekend, which was really nice! We went to the Porter Peach Festival (evidently Porter is the peach capital of Oklahoma), but sadly didn't see where they were selling any peaches. Hmmmm. Still, it was nice to walk around the small town and watch the parade.

Today we took Addie to the BA splash park. Despite capturing a few pictures of her smiling, she didn't really enjoy it too much. However, she did enjoy watching the other kiddos play! Afterwards, we came home and played outside in the pool. I even made Buster get in the pool, which he wasn't too thrilled about.

I hope you all had a great weekend. We've got some exciting things coming up this week... our first time to "My First Storytime" with some moms from Jazzercise (we're all laughing already about how our kiddos will do!) and then on Friday, my friend Becky from Jazzercise is going to show me how to make bows for Addison. I'll keep you posted!!

Addie's about to give Buster a kiss.

After the pool. I really only put this cover-up on so that she could wear that cute bow!

New Toys

Well, we have two new toys around the house; one for me and one for Addison. I bought a panini press this week (Walmart for $30). We have talked about getting one for a few years, but finally decided to just do it. I'm in love! It's so easy, too. My mother-in-law showed me a great trick-just put foil on top of and under your sandwich so that you don't have to use butter and for basically zero cleanup! Healthy and easy! My new favorite sandwich we've been making with it:
2 slices whole wheat bread
Little bit of honey mustard
Fresh spinach, tomato
Ham or turkey
Muenster cheese

It comes out looking like you bought it from Panera... so yummy!

Addison's new toy is her new potty. Here's what she does with it. She's way too young to start potty training in my opinion, but we are just getting her familiar with it!

And, here is the end result. She takes everything out of the potty and puts her Lamby in it! She also put her face in the potty yesterday. We're obviously working with the concept.... baby steps!

One last thing. I found an EASY recipe in Southern Living magazine the other day that is yummy!

4 cups of watermelon

1/4 c. sugar (or less, depending on how sweet your watermelon is!)

Put them in a blender until smooth. Pour through a strainer. Add two cups of water to the mixture and pour over a glass of ice!

NC Trip, Part 2

We had a great rest of our trip with Scott's family. Most of the time was spent at their home in the mountains, followed by a quick stay back at their home in Cary before we left. Addie had a great time with Nana, Poppa, and Uncle Brent and loved all the attention:) The boys worked on framing out part of the unfinished basement and ended the trip with skeet shooting. (Sounds so manly, doesn't it!)

Home away from home:)

We saw a bear for the first time-there are a few in the neighborhood/mountain. He was just walking down the street in front of Mom and Dad's house one morning.

Scott's brother (Brent), Dad, and Scott at the Grove Park Inn. We took Nana and Poppa to breakfast for their 40th anniversary!

Poppa with Jack.... by the end of the week, she was saying both names! At first, she was scared of Jack, but by the end she was used to him popping up.

Skeet shooting. Scott has lovely bruises to show for it, too. Sounds fun, but I think I'd rather go to a shooting range and fire a small girly handgun that doesn't have too much kick back. Yep, I've talked about doing that for years!

Swimming with Nana

Playing with Ivy and Colton. We tried to get them to sit next to one another, but that didn't happen until they were eating their snack. Their moms and I were in Youth Group together and all had our babies within 6 weeks of each other.

Addie's new 4th of July accessory. Thanks Becky!

This is one of Addison's new things she randomly does... pushing her diaper down and showing off her booty. Don't ask me where she learned to do this!?

NC Trip, Part One

It's great to be home! We've had an eventful 5 days with my side of the family in Asheboro, North Carolina. The highlight for Scott so far has been going on the 2 hour-long canopy tour (zip line park) with my oldest brother, Scott, in the forest about 20 minutes from my mom's. Tim, I know you would have loved it!! (My brother and his wife are in India for two months, so they weren't with us this time). Evidently one of the guides told my hubby that he was a little nervous when he went down the line... someone was going a little too fast and didn't break until the very end:) They had so much fun that my sister-in-law, Leslie, and I (Kasey, are you in, too??) are going to go next year! Scott and I spent some quality time with my nephews and took them bowling, putt-putt golfing, and to lunch. We also went swimming, went to the NC Zoo, and have done a little bit of shopping:) LOVE Carter's Outlet! My mom and I even went to see a girly movie, The Proposal, which was really cute. (Scott is SOOOO thankful!) My dad also was able to drive up from Florida this trip to meet Erin (my niece) and Addison, which was a lot of fun! Erin is still awaiting her heart transplant, but as you can see from the pictures, she is doing very well under the circumstances and is a joy to be around. It was great to see the two girls (who are just a few months apart) starting to interact with each other, even if it was just stealing each others' toys!

Next we're on our way to the NC mountains to spend time with Scott's family. I'll share more pics later!
