Random Pics Around the House

We haven't been doing much around here so I haven't been taking a lot of pictures. I was sick, Scott was sick, Emma had a few issues.... it was a long week last week!

Just hanging out around the house with Emma:

Somebody finally pooped in the potty twice in one day...of course, she often still wants a pull up on, but that's ok! Her special treat: ice cream

and getting her nails painted for the first time. It was such a nice, quiet, still activity that I could do with her while on the couch sick:)

I was getting into her fall/winter clothes to see what we have for this year. Someone wanted to get into them as well.

What would YOU wear if it was 103 degrees outside?? Addison prefers a sweater and underwear!

Just hanging out... doesn't she look comfortable?

You are REALLY in a DEEP sleep when...

1) You fall asleep on the couch at 5pm watching Dora, your favorite show. Um, I don't think I've ever fallen asleep during a Real Housewives show on Bravo!
2) When Mommy vacuums the entire house, even around the couch where you're sleeping, you don't even move an inch. (And it's a LOUD vacuum!?!)
3) When we wake you up after Daddy gets home an hour later, you roll over deeper in the couch and really hope we just leave and let you sleep in peace. (Which is NOT what happened. Sorry about that. We don't want to be up until midnight with you still awake.)
The end.
And baby sister slept for 5 hours this afternoon. I was able to get the entire house cleaned, 4 loads of laundry folded and put away as well as yard work done. Wow. I forgot what it was like to be so productive in just ONE day! Now where's my bowl of ice cream to celebrate how much I did today...:)

Sensitive Ears

Buster doesn't like it when Emma cries and begins howling to let me know that I need to do something. I finally got a little bit of it on camera. No, I didn't let her cry that long. She was ready to get out!

On the other hand, I don't feel so bad...he has a GOOD life at this house! That's OUR bed:)

On another note, we started cereal this week. Um, I forgot how incredibly messy it is. She won't actually eat it unless she is sucking on her hands so it ends up everywhere, even her toes. Eww.

New Ride

Scott just got this from one of his co-workers and our little lady is loving her new ride!

Scott has been taking her to the pool that way and she loves going on bike rides now with Daddy. Emma and I drive because I'm lazy:) Emma loves the pool much more than Addison did at this age! She won't take a paci anymore but she sure does love those fingers!

I recreated a shot that Nana and I took of Addison when she was almost 2 1/2 months old... Here's Addison:

Here's Emma at 4 1/2 months old.

So, after looking at those pictures for awhile, I have to ask...Where is Emma's hair?!?! :) I know she has a lot of hair compared to many babies, but compared to Addison at the same age, she's practically bald!! Here's Addison at 4 1/2 months old:

Emma at 4 1/2 months. I think we're going to have a brown eyed girl:)

4 Month Pics

Well, this is a little late, but I finally got around to taking some pictures of our gal. She is now rolling over both ways and loves sucking on her entire hand! This chick always has her fingers in her mouth and rarely wants a pacifier. She loves talking to us and still gives big smiles when she sees us.

Trip to North Carolina Part II: Nana and Poppa's

The second part of our trip was in Cary, where Nana and Poppa live. Scott and I enjoyed visiting with friends, running together, and going on a date to my favorite barbeque restaurant. Scott's grandmother, Huma, said she enjoyed being there with us even though she didn't really see us much. That's how it is when we're home! I don't think Nana and Poppa really mind the extra time alone with the girls, though:)

Addison loved playing outside.

Swimming with DoraNana has lots of fun things to play dress up with... of course, it's always more fun playing dress up in your undies!
She may not look like she's my child, but when you see Addison do her happy dance while she's eating, you KNOW she comes from me:) Scott's Mom always makes fun of me because I'm just like one of her boys...as soon as I come in, I go straight for the fridge and smile!

You should have seen her attack this corn! Poppa had a boo boo on his head while we were there and Addison just HAD to be like him. This chick looooooves her Poppa!

Uncle Danny and Aunt Teresa came to meet Emma!

Huma even came for our visit! She loved playing with the girls and especially liked talking to Emma.

Before we left, we also had a playdate with friends Scott and I grew up with from church (Scott even went to prom with one of the gals!). The grandmas are friends, we're friends, and hopefully our kiddos will be friends, too.

Two years ago: Ivy, Colton, Addison. They are all born within six weeks of each other:

This summer:

I wasn't able to get a group shot at our playdate, so here are a few more pics. It's so funny how different boys and girls are from the beginning!

And finally, after all of that playing, she fell asleep during her nap the last day we were there like this. Her head was the only part of her body that made it on the bed!

Trip to North Carolina Part I: Grammy's

The first part of our trip was at Grammy's! We had a lot of fun hanging out with Grammy, going shopping, going on a date, visiting Great Grandmother and hanging out with Uncle Scott, Aunt Leslie and cousins Ethan, Eli, and Erin.

Aunt Leslie with Emma.

Erin and Addison. It's so neat to finally see them interacting more together! I didn't have any cousins my age, so I hope they grow up to be good friends!

Ethan, Eli, and Addie.

Grammy with all the grandkids! It was loads of fun trying to get everyone to smile:)
