New Found Skill

Evidently Addison is learning that she can take her pants off... as I was checking email, she came in to find me like this:) Eventually, she got her pants off and surprisingly went straight to the bathroom to sit on her potty. I took off her diaper, but nothing happened. Then, to make the experience just perfect, she ran out of the room, got her purse and sat back down on the potty:)

Family of 4.5!

Yes, we are adding to our family. I'm 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and just confirmed it with my new OB today. (Though I totally knew I was preggo since I have been completely sick for two weeks.) Thankfully, my new doctor prescribed a drug that seems to be working tonight. I actually drank half a glass of water without needing to gag! That is a HUGE milestone! Hopefully this will continue to work and I will be able to function again.

Here's a picture of our cutie. I know Baby Beam doesn't look like anything:) But, we did get to see the heart beating. The outside right circle is the bag of waters and the left side extra piece is what the baby is getting nutrients from right now. Enjoy Grammy and Nana:)

Our due date is March 13th, 8 days after Addison's 2nd birthday.

Raisin Bran + Addie = Big Mess!

So, I thought Addison was dusting behind me as I was cleaning. Evidently, she found the pantry and the Raisin Bran inside. She called to me only a couple of minutes after I was dusting and there it was all over my couch. I had a big laugh and I'm thankful we put blankets on our couch for Buster! An easy cleanup. She is so serious in all the pictures because she is trying to find all of the raisins among the bran flakes!!

This would make me cringe if I didn't have the blanket down on the couch!

Our Weekend

We've had a restful and uneventful weekend, which was really nice! We went to the Porter Peach Festival (evidently Porter is the peach capital of Oklahoma), but sadly didn't see where they were selling any peaches. Hmmmm. Still, it was nice to walk around the small town and watch the parade.

Today we took Addie to the BA splash park. Despite capturing a few pictures of her smiling, she didn't really enjoy it too much. However, she did enjoy watching the other kiddos play! Afterwards, we came home and played outside in the pool. I even made Buster get in the pool, which he wasn't too thrilled about.

I hope you all had a great weekend. We've got some exciting things coming up this week... our first time to "My First Storytime" with some moms from Jazzercise (we're all laughing already about how our kiddos will do!) and then on Friday, my friend Becky from Jazzercise is going to show me how to make bows for Addison. I'll keep you posted!!

New Toys

Well, we have two new toys around the house; one for me and one for Addison. I bought a panini press this week (Walmart for $30). We have talked about getting one for a few years, but finally decided to just do it. I'm in love! It's so easy, too. My mother-in-law showed me a great trick-just put foil on top of and under your sandwich so that you don't have to use butter and for basically zero cleanup! Healthy and easy! My new favorite sandwich we've been making with it:

2 slices whole wheat bread

Little bit of honey mustard

Fresh spinach, tomato

Ham or turkey

Muenster cheese

It comes out looking like you bought it from Panera... so yummy!

Addison's new toy is her new potty. Here's what she does with it. She's way too young to start potty training in my opinion, but we are just getting her familiar with it!

And, here is the end result. She takes everything out of the potty and puts her Lamby in it! She also put her face in the potty yesterday. We're obviously working with the concept.... baby steps!

One last thing. I found an EASY recipe in Southern Living magazine the other day that is yummy!

4 cups of watermelon

1/4 c. sugar (or less, depending on how sweet your watermelon is!)

Put them in a blender until smooth. Pour through a strainer. Add two cups of water to the mixture and pour over a glass of ice!
