Happy Easter!

Trying to get a family picture.
Toddler not cooperating + crying baby

Dying eggs with Nana. Her favorite part? Once they were dry, she cracked every single one of them on the counter.

Happy that plastic eggs in her basket had M & Ms inside.

All done!

"No Pants!"

Addison's new favorite phrase this week is, "NO pants!" Sometimes we make her put them on and other times, well, we let her have her way for a bit. So, here is her new style. She loves her new boots. We got them from Kohl's for $7, so we bought some for next year, too. They'll double as rain boots and snow boots. Darn, no more plastic bags over her shoes in the snow:)

Spring Snow and More Newborn Pics

It was sunny and 70 degrees in Tulsa on Friday. Then, over the past two days, we've gotten at least 5+ inches of snow!! Nana took Addie out in it yesterday, but didn't stay out too long since the wind was really blowing. Do you like Nana's boots? I made them myself!

Since we were stuck inside, Nana and Addie made Rice Krispy Treats. Guess who didn't like the gooey marshmallows on her hand?

And, since we were stuck inside, I decided to do round two of Emma's newborn pictures! She'll be two weeks old tomorrow!

More pictures of our little lady

We are truly enjoying this sweet girl. She's been an easy baby so far, and I hope that continues! Not much spit up and no projectile spit up...hopefully we will be spared this time around!!

We love snuggling with this cute bottom!!

Addison has enjoyed holding Emma. She often calls Emma "My baby."

More similarities between the sisters! We did not intentionally take similar pictures-I just realized after looking at the one we took of Emma today that there was one just like it with Addie!

Addison: A few days old.
Emma: A few days old.

We will attempt a few more naked pictures with Emma tomorrow. Emma quickly ended the photo session today by pooping yellow mustard all over the pink blanket. We all got a great laugh:)

Meet Emma Elizabeth!

Emma is finally here! Another mini-Scott with a ton of dark hair. This labor and delivery story is soooooo different than Addison's! For all of you who like the details:

  • 6am: Arrived
  • 6:45: Got pitocin, was between 3-4 cm dilated
  • 7:45: Got my epidural
  • 8:45: Dr. broke my water; 5cm dilated
  • 9:45: Nurse checked me-I was 7cm
  • 10:30: Nurse checked again and I was 10cm; called Dr. and got the room ready
  • ~11:00: Dr. arrived
  • 11:19: Emma was born
Most of you know that I delivered Addison too quickly, so I couldn't get an epidural or any pain control last time:( I'm happy to report that I had ZERO, and I mean ZERO, pain this time. LOVE you epidural! I was completely loopy all morning long. Scott asked later if I knew how funny I was... yep! I told him, "I love you, you're the best husband, can I have a hug and a kiss, etc." about a thousand times yesterday morning, and I know he appreciated that much more than the words that came out of my mouth last time:) We didn't get it on tape, but it was pretty funny. Anyway, it was really nice to be able to enjoy the labor this time!

Addison did really well meeting Emma for the first time! She was a little shy at first (there were a bunch of people in the room), but quickly warmed up. She wanted to hold Emma several times and give her a toy that my friend Missy had brought for her. Hopefully it will go well again today.

Are these gals sisters or what???

My Baby is 2!!

Well, one more post before Emma's debut! My baby girl turned two on Friday. I cannot believe it has been two years. Grammy flew in Friday night and Addie has enjoyed every minute of her visit! My mom's birthday is this Wednesday, so we celebrated with pedicures on Saturday followed by lunch at a tea room in Claremore. Scott and I were even able to go on a date tonight (dinner AND a movie) and we realized it's been over two years since we've gone to both on a date-sad, I know!!

We already did the cupcake thing last week at her party, so on her special day, I let her pick out a few donuts at a local shop:

Now, I'm sort of one of those snobby moms who really doesn't like the Disney or cartoon characters on clothes for my child. However, my kid loves Dora and so you just have to change your mindset sometimes when you know it will make your kiddo so happy. These were two of the best presents ever: a Dora backpack from Nana and Poppa and a Dora nightgown from Grammy. Can't you just see her excitement in the mirror??

Well, we HAD to try it on Buster, too:)

And lastly, Week 39:

Week 38

We have less than a week before Emma's arrival! Addison has been celebrating by waking up earlier and taking shorter naps... go figure!?! We've been talking a lot about baby Emma and while I was getting ready the other day, she squatted, pointed to my belly and said, "Push out. Push out." I've told her a few times that I will have to push Emma out before she can come home. Guess it sunk in!

I was a little nervous to put off her birthday celebration since her birthday is so close to my due date, so we had a small party at The Bouncy Barn last Friday morning. Most of the pictures didn't really turn out, but I thought this one was really funny. She got the sunglasses and crown and really wanted to wear them!
